What is “Hyperdilute” Radiesse?

While it sounds complicated, hyperdiluted Radiesse is simply Radiesse that has been thinned out with a mixture of saline solution and Lidocaine into areas where the skin is showing sagging and looseness. The calcium hydroxyapatite molecules in Radiesse then stimulate the body to build new collagen as it acts as a collagen stimulating agent. This naturally firms and improves the area, adding volume to the sagging area and improving the skin texture. This treatment is a favorable alternative to surgical intervention such as facelift or neck and décolleté lift.
Calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHA) is a well-established collagen stimulator. In recent years, it has been increasingly used in hyperdiluted form as a biostimulatory agent rather than a volumizing filler to improve skin quality and firmness in both facial and corporal areas.

Hyperdillute Radiesse technique is a biostimulatory, and has collagen producing power to:

  • Rejuvenate the skin
  • Improve texture
  • Correct volume loss and wrinkles
  • Improve the appearance of cellulite

Hyperdiluted radiesse® is generally performed in areas where skin laxity is a concern such as:

  • Abdomen
  • Neck wrinkles or lines
  • Upper arms
  • Aging hands
  • Knee lines
  • Decolletage
  • Buttocks with cellulite dimples
  • Mid and lower face

When will I see results and how long will they last?

You may see an immediate result after treatment. The collagen stimulating effects of the treatment will take over at 3-4 weeks post treatment and will continue for up to 6 months. The gains you make with treatment will last, however, the aging process will continue- you will just age from a better place. For these reasons we recommend an effective at-home anti aging regimen and annual visits for maintenance treatment.

How many Hyperdilute Radiesse treatments will I need?

We recommend 2 – 3 treatments performed 1-2 month apart for optimal results. The number you will need will depend on your overall skin health, amount of skin laxity and volume loss. To maintain results we recommend a follow up treatment approximately once per year.

Is there downtime? What are the side effects?

Very mild bruising, swelling and discomfort after treatment may occur. These are temporary and will resolve within a few days.

Who Is The Ideal Candidate For Hyperdiluted Radiesse®?

Patients in good health should be able to receive hyperdiluted Radiesse® injections, particularly if they have concerns with skin texture, skin laxity, wrinkles, or cellulite.
Patients may not be a good candidate for the treatment if they:
  • Have allergies to any substances included in the filler
  • Have any skin infections
  • Have an autoimmune disease
  • Are pregnant or breast-feeding
  • Have a history of keloid scarring
While there is no age requirement for the treatment, the majority of those who request this cosmetic enhancement are typically 50 years of age or older. The regenerative effects of hyperdiluted Radiesse® treatment are best observed in those patients who have visible signs of aging.

How effective is Hyperdiluted Radiesse?

Hyperdiluted Radiesse® treatment sessions typically take 15 to 20 minutes each, after which there will be initial improvement in volume, and minimal downtime.

However, the collagen-stimulating effects of hyperdiluted Radiesse® will begin about a month after treatment, and will continue to improve for at least six months. Maintenance may be required in some areas to combat more advanced signs of aging skin.

Two to three treatment sessions spaced one to two months apart during the first year will likely be needed for optimal results. The number of treatments will ultimately depend on the overall volume loss and relative skin laxity of the patient.

As far as follow-up treatments are concerned, one session every 12 to 18 months is recommended to ensure that optimal skin firming effects are maintained.

What can Hyperdilute Radiesse help with?

All areas can be done, but some new interesting areas to consider are the decolletage (chest wall), necklines for thinning skin around the neck, cellulitic dimples of the thighs and buttocks, giving minor volume to the buttock for better shape, knee lines from lax skin with aging, stretch marks, and laxity around the arms.

What are the benefits of Hyperdilute Radiesse with the cannula method?

Cannulas are beneficial to apply fillers in general, but with hyperdilute Radiesse you can go safely, effectively, and automatically into thinner areas for volumizing.

How many treatments will I need?

Dr. Faremouth has found that from one to three initial treatment sessions are needed to achieve the aesthetic effects desired. These are spaced one month apart. From there, it’s only maintenance, with one hyperdilute Radiesse treatment every 12-18 months.
Any area that is sagging or is showing crepe-like skin can be changed with these treatments. You’ll see smoother, plump, firmer skin in all of the areas dr. Faremouth injects hyperdilute radiesse. From there, occasional maintenance every year or so maintains your plump, younger-looking skin.
